How It Works:
A SkySurfer satellite
dish is installed at your home or business so it faces the southeastern sky.
A cable is run from the dish to an internal satellite receiver that is easily
installed in your computer’s
available PCI slot. The system works by giving you a 512K high-speed
connection when you are downloading files from the Internet, which is
basically every time you look at a Web page, check your email, or download a
file. Your computer is also
connected via a normal modem to your telephone line and the Internet. This
line is used for sending “requests” to the Internet over the
dial-up connection. Because the information in these requests are small (like
when you type in a URL and hit enter) and your satellite downloads are so
quick, you can surf the Internet at super fast speeds.

installation and first months payment due at sign
off of installation. If you are not the homeowner, please make sure you
have permission from your landlord to install the satellite dish. Jackpine
Internet Service is not responsible for equipment installed without the
permission from the owner of the premises. Based on average web page size
of 50 Kbytes - you would be able to view 10,000 web pages per month before
exceeding the 500MB limit. Additional E-mail accounts available for
$2/month per account.
